While hand cutting for The Triumph of Spring the self-inflicted parameters of working only from Old Master paintings emerged. The landscape and fauna are from multiple paintings by Sassetta. The spring flora come from paintings by Monet and Degas. And the bearers themselves come from The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
